The project is expected to commence construction in 2018, and is estimated to be built in small phases over a 15-20 year timeframe. Priority will be placed on building affordable/ attainable rental apartments early in the project’s development. Buildings will only be constructed as demand is demonstrated for a particular use.
The parks and trails within The Tree Farm will be open to the public, including a 1-mile trail circling Kodiak Lake and a public park on the north side of the lake.
Kodiak Lake hosts several community-based events throughout the year, including waterskiing tournaments, an Xterra triathlon, youth ice hockey programs, stand-up paddle boarding events, ice karting, and more.
The developers of The Tree Farm believe in advancing sustainable building technologies and practices, and in creating a positive model for future developments. The project is designed to exceed Eagle County’s “EcoBuild” sustainable building requirements. Building projects within The Tree Farm must achieve 50% more points than are required by the EcoBuild program.
